“It was incredible…
I have been looking for this all my life...
You gave me a vision…
It is no coincidence that you are called ORAMA.”

Young participant, Art of Diversity training, July 2004.

In Greek, 'ORAMA' means VISION.

If you combine it with other words it adds PERSPECTIVE to them.

At ORAMA as an organisation, our vision is anti-discrimination
& anti-racism, diversity, equality and respect of human rights.

We act upon our vision and add perspective to perceptions
about people & situations.

We challenge, inform and raise awareness.

We promote universal human rights, anti-discrimination,
diversity and the principle of 'all different, all equal'.

We encourage active participation in tackling discrimination
and promoting diversity, equality and human rights.

Our Vision a Reality in a Unique Way

Ensuring that the equality & diversity principles transcend all ORAMA
processes, practices and programmes.

Adopting 'Diversity Peer Education' as our method of work:
'Diversity' - Embrace variety, value difference, observe equality in our work.
'Peer' - Our trainers are 'peers' to each training group.

With our trainings we aim to create multipliers of social change.

Developing professional and innovative methods of work: participatory,
interactive & creative peer education training programmes and educational
resources.

Our Training Programmes

Each one of our trainings is tailored to the needs of the participant group.

All our trainings follow carefully developed programmes that include creative
interactive activities, individual and group reflections and discussions.

All activities are experiential, participatory and based on the principles
of intercultural learning.

They include a variety of communication and learning styles and tools
to appeal equally to different types of learners.

All trainings are run by experienced professional ORAMA trainers.

Our programme activities have been designed and developed by teams
of specialists at ORAMA, the European Network of Women,
C.R.E.A.M. (Coordinadora de Recursos Educatius Actius Multiculturals)
and the European Peer Training Organisation.
